Adblocking with bromite and newpipe has been a game changer. Although I'd love if I didn't have to trust the Bromite build(or diy it).
And modern library cards are great, free audiobooks and ebooks without leaving the couch.
- Zhyl 5y agoIf you haven't added the New pipe repository directly yet (instructions to do this on their website) I'd recommend it. The Newpipe repo is usually a few days ahead of the F-Droid one and means fixes for breakages usually come through more quickly when YouTube change their frontend.
- deregulateMed 5y agoThis has the problem where you must trust Newpipe. I'd rather Trust only Fdroid rather than a bunch of individual apps. I want deterministic builds SOOOOOO bad.
- Causality1 5y agoThank you for letting me know about Bromite! Firefox Mobile's UI is pretty terrible these days and getting worse, and I wasn't looking forward to limiting myself to hosts file blocking.
- cf100clunk 5y agoIf you root with Magisk you can use the Webview Manager module to install Bromite System Webview alongside the Bromite Browser itself.
- atatatat 5y agoVanadium is another "step up" from Bromite.
- cf100clunk 5y agoCould you give information to support that? I am looking for comparisons that could affect my choice.
