- animal531 5y agoYeah, I think that even while the Internet has connected us all it still means that we can only communicate in a limited fashion, which doesn't detract enough from the physical feeling and gain you get from having a tangible real world friend(s). I have online friends, but we mostly only discuss topics from a range of things. You're also only hanging out in limited spaces (e.g. a game or chat room), so you're not being forced to experience random activities/things happening like you would have with a real world friend.
- RGamma 5y agoI want to add that finding RL friends online is a choice and needs to be pursued with intent. I know it's possible and happening from personal experience, but I also know it's not as common as it perhaps ought to be. Lack of spatial proximity may be an important factor but lack of intent/will may be even greater.
