When will people start to use the correct language when talking about suicide.
The submitter even editorialised the title to include "Has Taken Their Own Life" when the original reads "Reportedly Passed Away".
Leave it to people to frame suicide as something one very actively does to oneself - like they themselves are the only one responsible. And then they wonder why such wordings act as triggers to other people.
At-least it's nice that they didn't include any graphic details.
- ASalazarMX 5y agoSuicide is caused by mental illness, or your circumstances, and its execution is a deliberate decision, one they likely contemplated several times before. That said, it seems like the deciding circumstance in this case was a mob of relentless internet and real life harassers. Their enablers should definitely face some consequences, and their means of harassing should be severed as much as possible.
