The latest preview version of Microsoft's Windows Terminal has a quake mode.
- brndmp 5y agoIt's funny it's called quake mode when it could be found on existing mainframe systems before quake release; it really tells how Quake popularized the idea. I remember seeing it on the operator terminal of a GCOS7 mini-computer back in the early 90's, but I wouldn't be surprised if it could be found on earlier systems, perhaps even by other makers. It was quite convenient as the terminal was mainly dedicated to monitoring the system, with a quite detailed display of the processes and resources usage, so the command line wouldn't take any of the precious screen estate when it wasn't needed.
