The political status quo is trying entrenching itself. Hate exists with or without speech. I'd rather know who hates me - it's that simple. People today are like ostriches - they'd rather stick their head in the sand and pretend everybody loves them, which is so far from the truth! Silencing voices only increases hatred.
- Spivak 5y agoI feel like there's a misunderstanding here. Hate speech isn't Anakin going "I hate you!!" or even "from my perspective the Jedi are evil." Hate speech is the Chancellor giving a speech in front of the senate that the Jedi are the greatest threat to the republic leading to widespread violence and discrimination against them across the galaxy.
- nikolay 5y agoI mean "me" as my "protected class". I am a Christian and there's a lot of hatred against Christians these days. I also happen to be perceived as "white" although I don't identify as any race as races are unscientific and unfair. But people often hate white people online. So, I want to know who these people are, but now they will crawl back under the stones and I won't know who those bigots are. You don't fix one unfairness by replacing it with a new one!
