That’s a crappy illiberal government, but a better example of a totalitarian government is the PRC: the Party is the highest authority there is, and all matters of society, private, public, spiritual, foreign and domestic (at least as long as you’re of Chinese or Uighur descent) are subordinate to the Party’s interests and considered political.
