Fun project but RPI is a big overkill for these types of projects. For example, an ESP32 can go into deep sleep and last much longer on a battery.

- a10c 5y agoNot sure a battery-operated device is even necessary here given powering a garage door motor requires significant power and therefore you're likely to have mains nearby.
