Ask HN: How to prevent link rot/best practices
As the internet has grown older, an increasing number of links have become out of date (known as link rot). Out of date links are not going away, so I was wondering if there were any recommended resources on this topic? What are the best practices to prevent link rot?
I know some people create permalinks in the format 2021/06/27/<name-of-article> for something posted on June 27, 2021. What do you do if there's a typo/you want to change the name of the post? What if you create an updated post and want to send people to the new version from the previous link?
