Where would you say the screen on a laptop was? On the inside maybe? If you place a phone on your desk do you plug the charger in the front, side or bottom?

- mikewarot 5y agoAdding "front" implies front facing camera. facing things in front of me. Why not just say user facing, if that's what they mean? My phone has a microusb jack on the top. [Edit] It doesn't have any camera.
- yur3i__ 5y ago>Why not just say user facing, if that's what they mean? Because front facing is the accepted term for a camera on the front of the device when in use.
- perl4ever 5y agoThat's on phones. I don't think it's initially obvious the same terminology applies to laptops, because it hasn't been the norm to have a camera on the other side. The "back" isn't a part of the computer you normally are pointing at anything. It's not a big deal, but I'm on the side that it is something that has to be explained.
- cglong 5y agoFWIW, my Surface Book has a camera on both the front and that back (because it can be used as a tablet).
- perl4ever 5y agoIf I am sitting in a car seat, with a laptop open and in use, then the "front" of the car is in the same direction as the alleged "back" of the laptop. And vice versa.
