I prefer using Adapter-Variants:
SanDisk MobileMate with a fast MicroSD
Noname NVMe Adapter with a used Intel Optane or Samsung 950/960/970 Pro/Evo
For USB Sticks I use SanDisk Ultra Flair.
- n4bz0r 5y agoBesides the speed and volume advantages, the NVMe approach also has the benefit of a considerably longer lifespan. All that while having somewhat comparable to USB sticks footprint (certainly not an HDD case ballpark).
- gruez 5y agoIME nvme to usb adapters tend to run pretty hot as well. The only difference is that the form factor is much bigger so the same heat is dissipated over a larger area.
