A good salesman will instantly see how much nice the deal is! (btw: I know all his deals and customers: I host them. We were before partners in our first and failed startup and split to make things leaner and flexible - not more cost for office and all that-, and have worked for us) Other very simply, is get % off the sale. Most I know work like that, and prefer it to a salary.
