Otherwise, why would someone say sorry for malicious behaviour? Only bad people say they're sorry for ill intents, and it's insincere. Someone naive caught up in such mess is going to have a hard time, but you need to stand up for your own in this world. Don't assume good intentions, but also look past bad facades.
