There are cases where governments implemented protectionism and support for industry, but it failed. You have the case of computer industry in Brazil.
It's not as simple as saying that government support is the key since there are many cases where it didn't work.
- rsj_hn 5y agoThat's interesting, do you have a source that describes Brazil's tech intervention?
- dotcommand 5y agoBut there are no cases of a successful tech industry without government support. So we can safely say government support is key. Perhaps government support is necessary but not sufficient.
- contingencies 5y agoBulgaria would be another example.
