I would strongly recommend looking for part time ~30 hours or less a week. Most recruiters will ghost you as soon as you mention it, but a few will be willing to entertain it. Especially if you frame it as a “contractor”. I’m lucky enough to live in Australia so I don’t have to worry about health insurance if I’m a contractor, but I feel like the industry is slowly warming up to the idea that 40 hours a week is not optimal for programmers. I’m on my second job now at 30hr/wk and I’ll never go back to full time if I can help it.
