Title seems slightly misleading. The requirement is to survey students and staff, not a requirement for students or staff to answer: “[a law] mandating public colleges and universities survey students and faculty about their beliefs”.
Depending on the implementation of such a survey I guess it could be as in the title but personally I doubt it.
- desktopninja 5y agoI agree. This title is super "clickbaity". Title should be: Florida signs law mandating public colleges and universities to survey students and faculty about their beliefs @thehill.com, you'd get more readers with the correct title.
- casefields 5y agoIt's called paltering: The devious art of lying by telling the truth: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20171114-the-disturbing-art-of-lying-by-telling-the-truth https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20171114-the-disturbing-a... Outrage clickbait especially in politics is rife with it.
- dang 5y agoI've edited the title to try to make it less misleading. If anyone has a better title (i.e. more accurate and neutral, preferably using representative language from the article itself), we can change it again.
- williamtwild 5y agoThat title is total garbage . HN is becoming reddit.
- dang 5y agoIf you don't like that title why not suggest a better one? HN has been "becoming reddit" since before it was called "HN". As Voltaire said, "it must be very slow".
