Satya Nadella’s closing Windows 11 remarks were a direct shot across Apple’s bow
- AnimalMuppet 5y ago"Windows has always stood for sovereignty for creators and agency for consumers"? Yeah... um... Over the years, tell me how Windows has respected my agency on what browser I wanted to use. (For that matter, tell me how well it respects my decisions about where I want the icons to be on my desktop.) Microsoft has run over my agency any time they felt like they could make a buck by doing so, and sometimes even when they couldn't. (The icon thing is just incompetence - I think - rather than an evil plan to get some more money somehow.)
- 7thaccount 5y agoWindows has never been about agency. Just because it's less of a walled garden than iOS doesn't mean it's a role model. Linux is is still the poster child.
- Crontab 5y agoThis is a bullshit statement from a company that wanted to create their own version of iOS with Windows RT.
- nly 5y agoSay whatever you want about the marketing BS but focus on creation over consumption is, at least, a good thing. Even if they are doing it because they're desperate to retain their stronghold.
- donarb 5y agoAnd the web wasn't born on Windows, it was born on Next.
