Actually, it wouldn't be. Starlink orbits at about the same altitude, but the satellites have their radio antenna pointed downwards to Earth, so they can't connect with each other.
- beerandt 5y agoStarlink has lateral uplink/downlink lasers, but yes that would be a complicated solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
- NortySpock 5y agoLast I heard laser links were in testing, and was currently only being used for communicating in the same orbit (a single, linear string of satellites all orbiting in the same plane and at the same altitude)
