Try: "This is a joke, but..." or "From what I've seen..." or something similar.
Not everything needs to be serious but some people here are seriously fed up with "I'll probably get downvoted" (and even if I don't reflexively downvote such comments I see where they are coming from :-)
- ASalazarMX 5y agoThis is the best approach. I too enjoy the occasional witty/funny but well-placed comment, and being open about it being lighthearted helps a lot to avoid downvotes.
