I believe you called out the #1 feature of (some) cryptocurrencies. It can't be fucked with by central banks. No one country controls it. This is the whole idea behind distributed consensus. People who say cryptocurrencies are ponzi schemes often miss this single important point. They also often fail to realize it is possible for something to be grossly overvalued in the short/medium term without being worthless. I believe we'll eventually see a 'final battle' between central banks and cryptocurrency, along national lines, as they are diametrically opposing forces. Poor countries opposed to international intervention in their affairs and economies will be the first.
