Not Kiwi. Just wanted to point out that distilling at home as a hobby is also (uniquely?) legal in NZ as well. So this is not necessarily an isolated attitude on their part.
- maverick-iceman 5y agoMaybe it has to do with lack of police force? So no-nonesense solution is to avoid them wasting time for useless stuff? Many useless things such as the war on drugs, alcohol and prostitution are done (in my opinion) to give the millions of cops around the world a sense of purpose and avoid a particular demographic which is prone to aggression (young males) to have a lack of purpose which will inevitably cause social tensions
- biztos 5y agoI don’t know about the legality, but home distilling is the norm and not the exception in rural Hungary, Serbia, and plenty of other European countries.
