There are cases where excessive violence is used (at least imo). However, it is not common. Same should be true for prison guard. I believe the biggest difference is that both are not thrown into the job after a few weeks of training, but after about three years of training (at least police training takes that long). This is all just my opinion: I'm white male in my mid 30s and rarely have to deal with police, so obviously others might paint a different picture. EDIT: Most cases in which someone files a complaint are never closed (Aquitted or convicted). Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polizeigewalt https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polizeigewalt
- ikerdanzel 5y agoIn eastern asia side, some victims will hold grudges and plan for decades (see King Goujian for precedence). Then when the police retired, their children and grands are exterminated brutally ensuring that he died with no descendents and had to bury his first before his own. The first emperor of China to some extend almost suffered similar fate (he died first but his descendents wipe out in mere 3 years later) though officially the historical record didn't mention it. Unlike western culture where vendetta is depicted ineffective and discouraged, eastern side commonly practice in society at large spread across several decades. No law enforcers or DA dare to even investigate or highlight this.
