Frankly, I really wish there was a flag to remove all of the banners and other visual stuff PowerShell does when accessed over SSH. Its really bothersome to not be able to turn off all the visual clutter. Tell me if there is an error and stop blinking when there is not an error.
Also, I dearly wish it would stop inserting blank lines in output. Having to remove the blank lines from the output of every Format-Table is a pain in the butt.
- cratermoon 5y agoAll CLI tools should have a "compact" mode, with no extra linebreaks or whitespace, and a "readable" mode, for cleanly-formatted output. The default should be configurable. The SilverSearcher, ag, has some options for output that provide a choice of output for either easy on the eyes style or compact and easy to parse style.
