Hacking Reaction Therapy: 100 Days of Moon Shots /is it just my Anxiety talking?
I am dealing with Anxiety. After decades of crippling Anxiety (and Depression) I am now Depression free and no longer "crippled" by Anxiety.
The residues left is what I call "Failure to Lunch":
- I make too many lists, and accomplish none of those
- I plan too much, and execute too little
- "Research"
- When I start, I "Pivot" too early, pivot too much and never follow-through
- I start so many things and finish none. An example is the exorbitant number of domain names...
- I know so much an I do so little (lack of actions)
I have no grit/perseverance, I shy away from confrontations and from public, I have so many alter-ego handles (HN, Reddit, blogs) that I then delete after a year or so.
It has been a while (a while = years) that I have been thinking about Rejection Therapy / 100 days of rejection and while I see its usefulness, I can't help but thinking that a variant of it would be more beneficial and more useful:
100 MoonShots.
100 projects where the ration of effort to impact is a lot higher than asking for a free donuts. Could be as low as investing a few hours to craft a resume and cover letter for an amazing job for which we are not directly qualified but would be a lateral move (for us).
Or launch a MVP/Prototype and try to either sell it or raise Angel funding, Six Months of Tiny Projects's style.
I know that my Anxiety is behind me writing this post, instead of pulling the Nike it and JUST DO IT.
But, anyone wants to chime in on this? It could be as simple as "get off your butt and do it" or....
