Localmind closes funding and is moving to SF
TC article here: http://techcrunch.com/2011/07/13/location-based-qa-platform-localmind-raises-600k/
- hezekiah 15y agoHow did they fund the company initially? How did they get coverage on BBC and CNN? How did they get in touch with their current funding source?
- jonny_eh 15y agoCongrats guys! One of the slickest apps for the iPhone.
- modmax 15y agoReally happy for you guys :)
- blunderdog 15y agoI remember these guys from SXSW and I'm happy to see they got some financing. Localmind is a very cool concept with a lot of potential but it needs thousands of users in every city for the app to be useful. During SXSW, they got precisely that level of density and the omniscience-as-a-service vision became very clear to me. Intriguingly, because Localmind uses check-in services to passively acquire location data, it doesn't require users to actively use it in order for density to accumulate in the service.
