Show HN: Smoko – 5min video conversation to interests
- Nwil 5y agoHello everybody! I created this service so that there was someone to talk to during a break and take a break from work. Last year, due to remote work, only a cat was my interlocutor)) The communication time is specially limited to 5 minutes, so as not to get too loose. Smoko-rooms open 2 times every hour, .00 and .30 minutes. The number of interlocutors in one room is limited to 5. You do not need registration to connect, only to create and manage your smoko-room. I have made several persistent threads. The project uses Janus, the code and the server are being optimized, please do not judge strictly for possible failures and load restrictions. Communicate, meet, relax. Ask a question and get advice from a colleague. I would be grateful to the HN community for a discussion. Best regards, Konstantin.
- david927 5y agoI like the idea and it looks well done! I'll be giving it a try. Good job!
- david927 5y agoOk, I signed up for the 1:30pm football group but when it started, the room was destroyed. Could you make it so that it can start anytime? So that I can just open a room and wait for people to join? I would like to use it for other supporters of my football team (Liverpool), so that we can watch games together.
- Nwil 5y agoAt the moment, the idea is as follows: these are short conversations no more than 5 minutes. We got a little distracted, discussed it and then go about our business. We discussed and creating rooms at any time and duration. I decided to dwell on the current concept for now. 5 minutes, every half hour. When creating a room, you can specify that it will be periodic, i.e. will not be deleted, but will constantly become active at the appointed time, see the field Periodic
