This article is trying to be a reality check on the struggles of an increasingly powerless lower class, and I admire the intention there. But the concluding solutions of more voting and advocacy doesn’t hit home for me when compared to the scale of the problem that was presented. I think people, young people in particular, need to start thinking outside the box in regards to higher education, taking on debt, the jobs we take early on in our careers etc. the only way we can re-establish the American dream is by doing things much differently, and while I don’t have many answers on this myself, this article would have been better if had had attempted to propose some.
