I had a class like that my freshman year of high school - a public school outside a medium-sized town in Michigan. It even included all the kitchen sink stuff people tend to ask for: budgeting, basic nutrition, fitness, physical health, emotional health, relationships, etc. Looking back, I think it was about as effective as one could hope for when teaching bored fifteen-year-olds how to calculate interest compounding. Which is to say mostly not very.
