The first thing that come to my mind is: "How will this fare for a long term daily backup?"
A few of my old phones and SD cards died due to the flash being used up(can't write new data, ro only).
That said, with some magic linux command sauce, external drives can be used(part 2 of link), then software RAID, offloading data to them to prolong flash writes lifetime, then more stuffs like AnLinux can instead be used to add functionality to it.
