  There is no company involved here, and your "solution" was offered and rejected, so clearly he's not "happy" with that.

    I read most of the article, and you are relying on information that wasn't in the article. The article doesn't even contain the word "fork". my answer is a good one, he released open source with a license, their fork would not generate work for him which was his main concern.
