Well not really surprising, a late 2000’s car has pretty much all the comfort and the important safety features a modern car has.
This wasn’t really the case with late 80’s and early 90’s cars in the late and mid 2000’s…
Aircon, airbags, ABS, power steering and heck even decent multimedia features all became quite standard pretty darn fast.
Other than the lack large LCD screens in the dashboard you can’t really tell if a car is from 2008 or 2018 even the shape is nearly the same because the same design language is used and we have optimized the form as much as possible from a fuel consumption perspective.
- blakebreeder 5y agoI've ridden in a few new cars recently. Maybe I'm turning into a crotchety old man, but who needs massaging seats, engine start buttons, automatic trunk closing, temperature targeting AC, charging docks, or proximity based unlocking?
- cillian64 5y agoAlso my 2009 Yaris has a decent size touchscreen LCD with carplay in the dash thanks to it being a standard double-DIN head unit. Makes it even harder to justify replacing the car now that the entertainment system is basically the same as any new car.
