I don't think the intended use case is dog replacement. Human beings just can't help but anthropomorphize, thus it's a robot dog instead of a quadrupedal load-carrying robot.

- awillen 5y agoThat just seems strange to me, but hey, I wouldn't begrudge a pet robot if it makes anyone happy. Maybe I'll look back at this post in 30 years and chuckle at how little foresight I had when they're incredibly popular.
