Oh I agree completely that there are better and worse ways to structure donations. And maybe there's even some perversity in the tax code that lets you make a few thousand bucks by making some very specific donations under convoluted circumstances. I just think there's no legal way you can donate 10 billion and come out with more money than not having donated.
