The main reason to use Renoise is if the tracker style sequencing is a productive process for you. I believe there’s a minimal version called Redux, but that changes the workflow. There is a free alternative. It isn’t native Linux and not as slick, but OpenMPT is meant to run in Wine and functions as a competent modern tracker.
