Amazon blames social media for struggle with fake reviews

It's not in the best interest of Amazon to fight this as long as it moves product and make them money, if they really cared they would create a system that detect this kind of behavior or just buy https://www.fakespot.com/ https://www.fakespot.com/ If they really cared they wouldn't allow someone to sell the same product manufactured en mass in china and just slaps some random name to be sold. If they really cared they would "test" or validate products before they are listed on their platform.
