The irony about this article about anthropology is that the field has some of the most sexist conclusions about the differences between male and female behavior that is in direct conflict with current modern cultural "woke" opinions about equality. To be a woman in anthropology is the ultimate surrender to science and the serenity of rationality. When I went to UCLA it was a female professor who taught my anthropology class and it was the same female professor who ultimately was able tell the class the above fact; that feminism as we know it today lies at a unique intersection of technology and culture that has enabled women to behave in ways that have never been observed in the history of mankind. If a man had taught this in a class, I'm sure he would've been cancelled.

My mother just completed her memoir about her career as an anthropologist and archaeologist. It will be published early in 2022 by the University of Nebraska Press as "Girl Archaeologist: Sisterhood in a Sexist Profession", if you're interested in the experiences of women anthropologists of her generation (Harvard Ph.D. 1964).
