In the early 1950s my parents got married. The first house they rented was $10 per month. Minimum wage at that time was 75 cents per hour. Ignoring taxation, you could rent a place for two people for approximately 15 hours a month. I don't think that there is an equivalent situation anywhere in the USA at this point...
