There’s a decent case made on ep 258 of the Merge Conflict podcast that Apple released the IDE for iPadOS as Swift Platgrounds because if it had been named Xcode it would have missed expectations by far too much.
If Xcode on iPadOS doesn’t have parity with MacOs, people would be miserable. But by calling it SP, it can be like a nerfed Xcode and still good.
