Built an ISP back in the mid-90’s with some friends as a startup. Dial-up, ISDN, Frame Relay, DSL, etc. My one piece of advice is to not overestimate sales. We engineering types tend to underestimate how hard it can be to sell things. We love the “build it and they will come” fantasy. The real world rarely works that way, especially for something as run-of-the-mill these days as internet service.
