Schmidhuber has done a lot of important, fundamental work, at the time when none of it was “cool”, but whenever I stumble upon his writing it always reads like a bad history book, where when and who are more important than what or why. I get (and moderately support) his obsession with proper attribution, but I wish he first talked about ideas, and then delved into the intricate historical details.
