Energy balance is something to worry about on scale of few thousand years, when we start running out of fissible materials and fusion never arrives. Global warming and greenhouse gasses, less than 50 years. If we don't fix it, we get no food, less water, mass migrations (possibly with war) up to extinction events. Problem is solar heat being trapped, not running out of energy sources.
