- dgellow 5y agoJust for the last one, even the best parents can have horrible kids. I feel that we often overestimate how much influence parents have on children compared to their peer group, genetics, and other factors.

- float4 5y ago> even the best parents can have horrible kids I agree completely, but my statement doesn't contradict yours. I said: bad parent implies bad child. You say: good parent does not imply good child. These statements do not contradict each other. Having that said, my initial statement is still flawed, as there are very nice children that have pretty awful parents. Probably because of reasons you outlined (peer group etc.)

- HPsquared 5y agoAt some point you have to start managing symptoms as well as prevention. EDIT: Though I agree the headline itself is dumb - of course we should also work on prevention.
