Canadians who got AstraZeneca vaccine can't see 'Springsteen on Broadway'
- tzs 5y agoArticle that isn't asking me to register to read it: https://www.backstage.com/magazine/article/bruce-springsteen-on-broadway-to-require-audiences-be-vaccinated-73446/ https://www.backstage.com/magazine/article/bruce-springsteen... The show is in a US theater, which will be open at full capacity. They policy right now is that you can only attend if you are fully vaccinated with one of the three vaccines currently authorized in the US by the FDA, and are requiring proof of vaccination. Canada has authorized all the vaccines that the US has authorized plus AstraZeneca. I wonder what happens if a Canadian who got one of the vaccines that is FDA approved wants to attend? Their vaccine is acceptable, but will they have a proof of vaccination that the theater accepts? If the theater accepts Canadian proof of vaccination, I can't think of any good reason they should not allow in people who used AstraZeneca.
- kaminar 5y ago1. None of the shots are FDA approved. 2. Asking for PHI breaks HIPAA...the theater is breaking federal law.
- tzs 5y ago1. I said "authorized", not "approved". 2. Nope. The theater is not a covered entity under HIPAA. Covered entities are healthcare providers, plans, clearinghouses, and business associates of those. See [1] for more information on HIPAA and vaccinations.
