I Taught Online School This Year. It Was a Disgrace
- approxim8ion 5y agoThe overwhelming majority of anecdotes about online classes I have heard from people currently in school or college have been negative. My limited experience with them (I graduated a few years ago), has been pretty poor too. What are some ways we can make this better?
- giardini 5y agoOne professor told me that he uses oral in-person exams. His many years have shown him that students at all levels, even the best students, will cheat in on-line exams.
- AndrewBissell 5y agoWhy is the default assumption that this is the correct way to do things, and we just need to iron out the bugs? Why not just continue with the proven methods of in-person instruction?
- approxim8ion 5y agoIt doesn't have to be one or the other. There are merits to this modality. Not everyone has access to quality in-person instruction.

- approxim8ion 5y agoI still don't see why it has to be one or the other. This is a much bigger problem to solve anyway.
