- DamnYuppie 5y agoIf you move from NYC/Sillicon Valley to a low tax state with a lower cost of living you will be making more money even after a 10% pay cut in salary. I used to work in NYC, I took a 15% pay cut to go to Dallas. I ended up pocketing an additional $1000 a month take home and I had a much nicer house.
