In most European there would be a national outcry and intervention from the central government. Why does this not happen in the US?
- hindsightbias 5y agoWell, Texans and Techies did cry out when California had/has their outages (mostly due to new fire prevention practices during extremely high winds). But Texas is a utopia of free market thinking where gov’t is always the problem and the market will fix itself. In the meantime, have you heard of CRT in the classroom, or the War on Christmas?
- theandrewbailey 5y agoThe USA was founded on distrust of powerful governments. That continues to today, and is more obvious in right leaning areas, like Texas. And what do you mean by 'central government' in Europe? One of the national governments (Germany, France, etc.) or the EU? Because the central government in the US (federal level) would have power similar to the EU than any of the smaller national governments.
