It seems buggy for me - it worked initially, until I used right-arrow to accept some text, then it seemed to mostly stop responding - even after a page reset - it's now very slow and/or intermittent. (Safari 14.1 on Mac) I guess it's possible the backend is overloaded by the HN-effect? Maybe you could add some kind of visual state indicator, e.g. a spinner that shows whilst HTTP requests are in progress, maybe an error indicator if the backend times out or returns an error.
