Would UFO Aliens Be Our Gods?
- themodelplumber 5y agoInteresting idea in some ways, but I didn't really see how these could be inferred: > We also have more direct evidence. First, aliens must be very old and stable, so they less want or experience innovation and change compared to us. This is just a ??? from me. What if observing us is part of a mechanism of universal or cosmic change of some sort? To measure a thing, even to watch it, is to yield at least the beginnings of control. And why must they be very old and stable? > Second, they aren’t remaking the universe much around here, or anywhere we can see, yet such remaking would have happened naturally unless they had coordinated strongly to prevent it. They seem to be able to come from, and go to, places we can't see. In fact they seem to be specialists in doing so. So I'm not sure how it follows that we can say that they are or aren't doing this or that with any certainty. Who knows what they do when they blink out of sight or take off at 29 Gs. > Thus they must have a strong “world” government, and also a policy of preventing mass colonization and remaking of the universe. That's quite a conclusion to draw. To me, even trying to tie the variously differing encounters, objects, shapes, and narrated experiences of these things into a single, unified "them" is logically and intuitively questionable. > Third, they haven’t killed us yet How do we even know this. I mean really, we could be figments of their imagination. Or they could have killed some of us and decided the rest of us will be dessert, kept for later. > , and they also let us see them, so they can’t feel very threatened by us at our current level. We have basically zero control over or knowledge of when we get to see them and what we see. To me this could mean they feel very threatened, for all we know, in that they appear only on their terms. > Fourth, they refuse to talk to us, so they don’t respect us that much, and aren’t that interested in running the details of our world or our lives, or in converting us to their beliefs. In a great many ways, we are just “beneath” them. There are accounts that some have talked. Subsets of accounts that some refuse to. And various intersections of the two. There are also accounts of us shooting them down, causing them harm, etc. Maybe some terms or definitions need to be clarified but I'm not seeing the sound logical inferences that would rule out other sets of conclusions.
