France has 4 companies in the top 100. All of them in the luxury fashion/beauty products: LVMH, L'Oreal, Hermes and Dior. Three of them were created before WW1 (that's a one) and Dior in 1946. And all of them thrive because of the lifestyle image associated to the "France" brand since then.
