Ireland isn't part of the Five Eyes though.
I don't really think Helen McEntee's maternity leave is relevant either because she's in the same party as Heather Humphreys, and they are in a three-party coalition government. There's no main partisan divide like there is in the US or UK.

- ploika 5y agoThere is no main partisan divide like there is in the US or UK. We don't have a two party system. The last election was basically a three way tie, with a significant vote share split across another handful of small parties and independents. It's way more complex than just FG v SF.
- rusk 5y agoWe have FF+FG, a pantomime to collectively keep the conservatives in power, and we have everybody else. FF+FG have been in power almost continuously since the formation of the state.
- jmmcd 5y agoDo you really think Humphries just decided to introduce a bill while McEntee is on leave? Surely this bill would've been in preparation for months.
