I’m Under Investigation for Buying Diesel Parts
- elmerfud 5y agoRevenuers! It's not so much about the suppressors, because they're legal almost everywhere. They're also legal to build and fairly cheap to do so. It's they want that $200 tax to be paid on all of them! I do dispute his assertion that suppressors so nothing. Guns are loud, like stupid loud. Movies give us a distorted view of how loud they are. Even suppressor they're still very loud, loud enough that hearing protection is still recommended. Suppressed they are barely under the maximum safe limit for impulse noises. So still loud enough to make your ears ring. That includes professionally made ones too.
- hippich 5y agoI think originally, stamp tax was added to prevent people from having access to suppressors - after all that $200 did not change in many decades, and today $200 is more of annoyance rather than a real blocker (another one - ridiculous wait time)
